    Food and drink at the Book Fair

    Between browsing and reading, culinary delights are a must. Our restaurants offer buffets and à la carte dishes – from Mediterranean and Oriental specialties to classic regional cuisine. Those who prefer something sweet or light will find coffee specialties, savory snacks, and cakes in our cafés. Of course, we offer a selection of vegan and vegetarian dishes everywhere. This makes your break the perfect place to recharge your batteries or discuss your current favorite book.

    Our food trucks offer a wide selection of quick snacks for in between meals. From sweet specialties such as waffles and crêpes to savory snacks including soups and pretzels to street food classics such as Asian noodles, pulled pork burgers, or langos—there is something for every taste. Of course, we also offer vegan and vegetarian options, kosher dishes, and options for special dietary requirements.

    This year, we will once again be offering dishes from the guest country of the Frankfurt Book Fair in our Patio restaurant. The Philippines are also known as the “Pearl of the Orient,” and the cuisine of the Philippines is particularly characterized by the interplay of sour, salty, and sweet flavors.
    Look forward to Ensaladang Talong – a salad with grilled eggplant, tomatoes, and onions, the classic Kaldereta – a spicy stew, and Bibingka – a popular Filipino rice cake. Enjoy the cuisine of this distant island kingdom and, of course, the 2025 Book Fair.

    Enjoying vegan and vegetarian food is a matter of course for us. Whether you're looking for fresh bowls, snacks, or classic dishes, you'll find a wide variety of options here. Sustainability is part of our history: with our green catering concept, we have been relying on regional suppliers, short transport routes, and seasonal products since 2013. Fruit, vegetables, and many other ingredients come directly from the Frankfurt area, so that your day at the trade fair is not only culinary but also climate-friendly.

    Depot 1899

    Enjoyment outside the fair

    Depot 1899 is the ideal place to relax and unwind at the end of a day at the trade fair. Located in the heart of Sachsenhausen, Depot 1899 is easily accessible by public transport via the Südbahnhof station. Just a few minutes' walk away, the former tram depot now houses an atmospheric restaurant serving regional and international specialities.
